The Latest addition to the TM AI Cobot S-Series

Earlier, we announced the arrival of the TM30S. Now it is here, and we take a closer look at this latest addition to the TM AI cobot series. The advanced TM30S cobot is designed to handle heavier workpieces in pick & place applications, with a maximum payload of 30 kg and a reach of 1702 mm. Compared to other cobots on the market with similar payloads, the TM30S offers a longer reach, better repeatability, and is lighter in weight.

Enhanced Safety and Functionality

The TM30S is equipped with a range of safety features certified according to international safety standards, including ISO 10218-1 by TÜV, and regional certifications such as CE, UL, and CAS by SGS. These features simplify safety assessments and reduce the costs of safety control configurations. The S-series boasts up to 31 PL=d, Cat.3 safety functions according to ISO 13849-1, guaranteeing the highest level of safety for collaborative applications.

    Innovative Features for Improved Performance

The TM30S introduces several new features to enhance performance and usability:

    • Robotstick: A newly designed Robotstick with a 3-position enabling switch and a RESET button, making it safer to operate. Combined with the TM screen, users can teach, debug, and operate the cobot via the Teach Pendant and the Pen.
    • Simulation Function: TMflow offers a "Simulator" function to pre-test robot programs and movements, allowing users to simulate DI/AI signals, test Listen Node and Network Node communication, and more without stopping the real robot.
    • Palletizing Mode: For applications with heavy workpieces, the TM30S can handle objects up to 30 kg. TM has also developed a "Palletizing Mode" that limits the orientation of the robot flange for objects that must always be picked up and placed facing downwards, increasing the payload capacity to 35 kg. The working range is limited to 1550 mm in palletizing mode.
    • Payload Compensation: The "Payload Changed from F/T Sensor" function dynamically measures and compensates for the weight of the payload, ensuring smooth handling of various objects, crucial for mixed palletizing/de-palletizing applications.

      Conclusion

The TM30S is a significant advancement in the TM AI Cobot S-series, with enhanced capabilities, safety, and functionality. It is designed to meet the growing demand of various industries and offers a reliable and efficient solution for handling heavier workpieces. Stay tuned for more updates and innovations from TM as we continue to push the boundaries of robot technology.

Valk Welding obtains dealership for Techman cobots

January 2018 – In addition to its automation solutions with Panasonic welding robots, robot integrator Valk Welding will start selling cobots (“collaborative robots”). For this, Valk Welding has obtained the rights for the distribution for the Benelux of the TM cobots from Techman Robot. This Taiwanese manufacturer develops and produces cobots which are equipped with integrated vision as standard. Cobots are relatively inexpensive, can be utilised in a plug & produce manner, feature user-friendly programming and can be used without safety provisions. As a result, cobots can work both next to people as well as with people without the requirement for additional safety precautions. Cobots are increasingly being integrated in assembly lines, for machine loading and other applications.
