In this video, we demonstrate the Techman Robot in a machine loading mode. In this setup, the cobot loads the workstation with subassemblies (base plate and tube). After loading, the cobot drops a hammer for additional pressure on the joint. The cobot is able to push the buttons of the robotic system which gives a signal to the welding robot. The turntable rotates into the welding cell where the Panasonic arc welding robot starts the welding process. After welding, the turntable rotates out and the cobot can pick up the welded piece and place it in one of the holders.
The role of cobots in loading and unloading jobs
In the rapidly evolving landscape of industrial automation, collaborative robots, or cobots, are emerging as a transformative force. Unlike traditional industrial robots, cobots are designed to work alongside human operators, enhancing productivity, safety, and efficiency. One of the opportunities for using cobots is in loading and unloading tasks, which are often repetitive, physically demanding, and prone to human error.
The cobots from Techman Robot combine the integrated vision system with the possibility of using different kinds of grippers. This ensures flexibility when using them for loading and unloading tasks. The integrated vision system ensures the checking of products and specific locations such as jigs or storage areas. The use of grippers makes it possible to pick up (base) materials, as well as push buttons or turn on switches to start certain procedures.
